Piha me ka mahalo for these scholarships. It has been amazing to live and learn at UH Hilo and I am currently working on completing my minor in Pacific history and double major in Hawaiian studies and communications. Because my family has struggled with domestic issues, I pay for my own tuition so going to college has not been easy, but I strive to be my best as a student and help my community and ʻohana in any way I can. With a university education, I can give back to my beloved hometown of Waimānalo as a young educator to keiki and makua in my community.
