Program overview

The Hūlili Scholarship acts as a bridge for ‘ohana, connecting students to private school education that might otherwise be out of reach. It provides tuition assistance to keiki entering grades 6 or 9 who face financial barriers, opening doors to opportunities while nurturing individual growth, family resilience, and a strong sense of kuleana to uplift those around them.

Hūlili is currently the only private school scholarship available to new haumāna attending participating private schools.

Yes! If you have multiple keiki, your ‘ohana can apply for more than one scholarship, as long as keiki meet the eligibility for each scholarship.

Each scholarship has its own application process and specific application link. Applying for one Pauahi Foundation scholarship does not automatically enter you for consideration for other scholarships. To be considered for each scholarship, you must intentionally complete and submit the application using the specific link provided for that scholarship.

No, new applicants can be enrolled or planning to enroll in a participating private school and entering Grades 6 or 9 in the new school year.

Current Hūlili recipients: Renewal applications are expected annually. Eligible recipients will receive renewal instructions and deadlines by email when the application period opens. Renewal is not automatic.

A renewal applicant is any student who used Hūlili Scholarship funding in the 2026-2027 school year. Students must progress to the next grade level to maintain eligibility in this program.

The renewal process helps confirm current information, ongoing eligibility, enrollment status, and any updates to household or student information.

Current recipients will receive direct communications from Pauahi Foundation when the renewal application period opens. These communications will include important dates, application instructions, and any expected documents.

Renewal applications must be submitted by the stated deadline. If you miss the deadline, your application will not be considered for funding for the following school year. Late applications will not be accepted, and there is no reconsideration or appeal process for missed deadlines.
