Ambassadors of Aloha ‘Āina Benefit Dinner

Join the Ambassadors of Aloha ‘Āina for an unforgettable evening of ‘ono food and entertainment by Hawaiian Music legends Mel Amina, Moon Kauakahi, and Eric Lee!

Founded in 2015 at Kamehameha Schools Kapālama, the Ambassadors of Aloha ‘Āina program sends students to learn, connect and represent our lāhui abroad. As cultural ambassadors, these haumāna carry forward King David Kalākaua’s vision of educating future ‘ōiwi leaders through global diplomacy and cultural exchange.

An extraordinary opportunity has grown from their October 2024 cultural and historical huaka‘i to Scotland and England. Most notably, the British Museum, through Dr. Alice Christophe, Curator of Oceania, extended a prestigious invitation for Ambassadors of Aloha ‘Āina haumāna to co-curate the 2025 exhibition at the British Museum and to participate in its opening ceremony in London.

As part of this initiative, 68 Kamehameha Schools haumāna will travel to London in March 2026 to experience the exhibition they helped shape. This once-in-a-lifetime journey will deepen their understanding of global cultural narratives, affirm their identity as stewards of Hawaiian history, and carry forward the diplomatic legacy of our ali‘i.

To help make this journey possible, the Ambassadors of Aloha ‘Āina is hosting a Benefit Dinner on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at the Ka‘iwakīloumoku Hawaiian Cultural Center from 5–8:30 p.m. Funds raised at the benefit dinner will be directed to assist with haumāna expenses, including airfare, accommodations, services, and other related travel and club expenses.

Your presence and support will not only contribute to a beautiful night of mele, mo‘olelo, and community, it will make a lasting impact on the lives of haumāna and the future of the lāhui.

Kindly respond no later than Oct. 24, 2025. For any questions, feel free to contact Karen Yasuhara at eeyasuha@ksbe.edu or call (808) 534-8360.
