Kapaelani Comstock KSKʻ01 was recently promoted from senior personnel manager to branch manager at ALTRES Staffing’s Hilo branch. A graduate of University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo, she earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration. Outside of the office, Kapaelani serves as an active member of the Hawaiʻi Island Chamber of Commerce, the Hawaiʻi Island Contractor’s Association, and the Ho‘olaule‘a committee. She is also the president of the Big Island Referral Network and serves as a board member of Kamehameha Schools Hawaiʻi Campus’ Parent and Teacher ʻOhana.
Brittanny Spencer KSK’09 graduated from University of Nevada, Las Vegas, in May 2014 with a bachelor of science in hospitality management. She joined the Hyatt Regency’s Corporate Management Trainee Program in June, and is currently the assistant front office manager at the Hyatt Regency in downtown Atlanta, Ga.
Long-time breakfast institution Cinnamon’s Restaurant opened a new location at the ‘Ilikai Hotel in Waikīkī, O‘ in November 2014. Alexander “Alika” Nam KSK’90 is the owner and general manager of the new restaurant. His parents, Puna Nam KSK’61 & Bonnie Nam, own and operate the original Cinnamon’s Restaurant in Kailua, O‘ahu. Other Kamehameha Schools alumni working for the Cinnamon’s include: Taysia Gaspar KSK’09, assistant general manager at ‘Ilikai location; Stephania Kintz KSK’14, hostess at both locations; Blayne Asing KSK’08, plays live music Tuesdays and Thursdays; Raina Chang KSK’01, server; and, Kira Chong Tim KSK’06, media relations. Josh Pu‘u KSK’07 graduated from the University of Washington in June 2012 with a bachelors of science in mechanical engineering (automotive design and vehicle dynamics focus). He is currently working at Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company in San Angelo, Texas, as performance test driver/development engineer.
