We are just a few months away from the end of another successful fiscal year!
I am so thrilled to report that we are on track to cap off the 2014-2015 fiscal year (ending June 30, 2015) with over $1.1 million in gifts to the Pauahi Foundation, which will be the highest total in the Foundation’s 12-year history. Mahalo for your continued commitment to uplifting the Hawaiian community!
The show of support has been tremendous, and comes from a diverse group of individuals and organizations. So far, we have nearly 1,600 donors and look forward to growing that number by the end of the fiscal year.
On March 30th, the Pauahi Foundation held its 3rd Annual Pauahi Series Golf Tournament at Nanea on Hawai‘i Island. Over 60 golfers gathered at the beautiful Nanea Golf Club for a day of friendly competition, fun, and more importantly, in support of creating educational opportunities for Native Hawaiians. In just one day, this event raised over $150,000 in scholarships. Our unique partnership with the Nanea Golf Club ensures that 100% of these funds will go towards the intended recipients—Hawaiian students on Hawai‘i Island.
We kicked off the month of April with the 2015 Reunion Challenge—a friendly competition between celebrating classes to encourage and increase alumni participation in annual giving. All classes participating in the competition have the opportunity to earn up to $15,000 towards their class scholarship. To date, celebrating classes have raised over $63,000 in donations through the competition. The classes of 1960, 1965, 1975 and 1995 have been leading the way in total raised, class participation and total number of donors registered to make a recurring gift. Participating classes have until June 30, 2015, to make their gifts count. Thank you to those who have already stepped up to take on the challenge!
June is coming soon with two large events to look forward to: the Foundation’s 2015 Kamehameha Alumni Golf Tournament (June 1) and the 26th Annual Kamehameha Schools Alumni Week (June 1 – 7). You can still register for the alumni golf tournament by visiting the tournament event page. All other alumni week information is available by visiting the alumni week website.
Thank you to those who have joined in to help us uplift our lāhui. Together, we have made great progress and growth, but what excites me the most is the enormous potential we have to do even more.
Me ka ha‘aha‘a,
