The 3rd Annual Pauahi Series at Nanea was held on March 30, 2015, at the Nanea Golf Club on Hawai‘i Island. The event was a great success with increases over previous years in both participation and funds raised.
“We are pleased with the traction and immediate impact we have made through this event,” said Jim Saunders, General Manager at the Nanea Golf Club. “Our unique partnership with the Pauahi Foundation has created an annual event that is truly a conduit for positive change within the Hawaiian community on the island of Hawai‘i.”
This year 64 golfers took to the beautiful Nanea Golf Course for a day of friendly competition and fun while partnering to raise nearly $150,000 to go towards multi-year scholarships at the Foundation.
After golf, the participants celebrated at the clubhouse with delicious pūpūs, great prizes and music from multiple Nā Hōkū Hanohano award winner, Mark Yamanaka. In addition, the event held a silent auction that featured one-of-a-kind items and experiences, including a Ni‘ihau shell lei with matching earrings and limited edition framed photographs by Sig Zane.
“Mahalo to the Nanea Golf Club and its incredible staff and leadership, its members, and all of the tournament participants!” said Keawe Liu, Executive Director at the Foundation. “The impact from this collective effort will change lives for Hawaiian learners on Hawai‘i Island.”
