Established in the name of Richards Marks, an honorable advocate for the rights of Hansen’s Disease patients and former owner/operator of Damien tours, this scholarship was formed to provide an avenue for Hawaiian physicians to be involved in improving the health and wellness of Kanaka Maoli. In addition, it’s purpose is to support medical students who are and will be actively serving the medical needs of the native Hawaiian community.
