The Reunion Challenge was offered to all celebrating classes in good hearted fun and true Kamehameha Schools fashion – competition. The challenge goals were based on a celebrant’s anniversary year. For example, the goal for the Class of 1989 was to have 25% of the class to give $25 or more because it was their 25th anniversary. Each class was offered two $1,000 prizes if they reached their individual class goals in participation and total amount raised. Also, available to the classes were two overall prizes of $5,000 for the class with the highest participation and the class with the highest amount raised to go towards their class scholarship or to start a new class scholarship.
Congratulations to the Reunion Challenge winners, Class of 1984 for the highest class participation and Class of 1954 for the highest total amount raised. Both classes won a $5,000 match gift to their class scholarship fund.
“The Challenge was a means for our class to come together to raise money for other Hawaiians and serve as a reminder that it is our kuleana as beneficiaries and products of Pauahi’s love to give back. We understand that needs exists within our Hawaiian community and that our school cannot do it all. I’m proud of the Class of 1984 and what we accomplished as one…I know Pauahi would be proud, too,” said Denise Ka‘a‘a.
