Jalene Kanani Bell `Ohana Scholarship, Kamehameha Schools Class of 1956 & Kamehameha Schools Class of 1974 Scholarship
Haunani Nagel is a graduate of `Aiea High School, a mother of five and a third year undergraduate student at the University of Hawai‘i West O`ahu. Her goal is to make a difference in our "own backyard" of Hawai`i. After moving to the mainland for a couple of years thinking the economic climate would be better, she soon returned to Hawai`i realizing that economic hardship is a nation-wide problem. With this in mind she returned to school to make a better life for her family. She strives to instill in her children the value of education and following through with commitments they have taken on.
Haunani is a perfect example of a determined, non-traditional student who wants to give back to the Hawaiian community and exemplifies Pauahi's love for her people.
Through our generous donors, scholarship funds are made possible. We applaud these students who have been selected through an objective review process managed by Ke Ali‘i Pauahi Foundation. All scholarship recipients have demonstrated their commitment to contribute to their Native Hawaiian communities and beyond.
