Classes Endow New Scholarship Funds
Through the Foundation’s Matching Incentive Program, classes KSK `79 and `80 have recently reached the minimum endowment level of $20,000. Through this program, the Foundation will match $1 for every $2 donated. These classed named scholarships will be offered for the first time during the 2011 scholarship application season.
New Funds on the Horizon
The class of 2001 is well on its way. With the help of generous donations from nearly 60 classmates, white elephant sales, and other fundraising activities, the class has collected over $10,000. Dawson Kaaua and Christine Hew, who are both co-chairing the class of 2001 scholarship board, hope to start a shift in the mindset of their classmates from beneficiary to benefactor. “Kamehameha has given tremendously to me and each of my classmates, and it is now our time to ‘pay it forward’ and give back to the school through Ke Ali`i Pauahi Foundation to help other Native Hawaiians,” says Kaaua.
Classes KSK '61, '62, '63, '89 and '01 have also begun rallying to endow scholarships in their names. To make a donation to your class scholarship fund or establish your own endowed fund – contact Ke Ali`i Pauahi Foundation at (808) 534-3966 or visit www.pauahi.org.
