Aloha mai kākou,
It is with great honor and humility that I address you on behalf of the board of directors of the Kamehameha Schools Alumni Association O‘ahu Region.
The basic mission of the alumni association is to strengthen the reputation of the Kamehameha Schools ‘ohana by engaging alumni in lifelong relationships with our school, haumāna, fellow alumni, and community. We have been focused on four main strategic intents:
- Strengthen the collaboration of alumni with the school and its many programs to help execute the will of Princess Pauahi.
- Strive to connect alumni while advancing their personal and professional growth.
- Mentor current students while fostering their involvement and commitment to Kamehameha.
- Expand the tradition of kuleana for Pauahi’s legacy among alumni by achieving our vision goal of transforming beneficiaries to benefactors.
I am eager and energized to expand and enhance the role our association plays in the success of our school and its community. With the caliber of people we have in the Kamehameha ‘ohana, I can’t help but think that there is tremendous room for growth.
The board and I will work diligently to clearly define our mission, and then lock arms with all interested parties to carry it out. I am confident that with your help, we will succeed.
In closing, I want to thank all of you who have helped over the last several years. Your commitment to giving back is what helps perpetuate Pauahi’s legacy. I know for me personally, I am better off because I went to Kamehameha. And because of that, I no longer feel as though it is an opportunity to give back, rather my responsibility. I hope you share in my passion and are willing to put your hands in the huddle for our cause. Mahalo ke Akua. I mua!
