Classes Endow New Scholarship Funds

Classes Endow New Scholarship Funds
Through the Foundation’s Matching Incentive Program, classes KSK `79 and `80 have recently reached the minimum endowment level of $20,000. Through this program, the Foundation will match $1 for every $2 donated. These classed named scholarships will be offered for the first time during the 2011 scholarship application season.

2010 Alumni Week Celebration: Golf Tournament and Lü`au

The annual Kamehameha Schools Alumni Golf Tournament, hosted for the first time with Ke Ali`i Pauahi Foundation, was held at Hickam Air Force Base’s stunning Mamala Bay Golf Course.  Over 220 golfers ranging from classes in the 1950’s to 2000’s joined the festivities and raised funds to establish the Nā Koa Ho`oulu Scholarship intended for students pursuing careers in the US Armed Forces, law enforcement and emergency medical response.  Event proceeds totaled $20,144 and the scholarship will be awarded for the first time during the 2011 scholarship application season.

The entire 9th grade class at Nānākuli High and Intermediate School received personal laptops as part of their initiation into the 21st Century Nānākuli High School Golden Hawks New Tech Academy – Hawai'i’s first “New Tech High School."

The year 1987 marked a major milestone for the Kamehameha Schools Class of 1957 who celebrated their 30th reunion year.  It was also the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Kamehameha Schools and the class wanted to make a significant gift to memorialize the occasion, but the question was “what?”
