Adrian Martin KSK’02 and Sophia Urusova joined in holy matrimony on Nov. 8, 2015, in a traditional Russian Orthodox ceremony at St. Nicholas Orthodox Church, Enfield, Conn. Adrian and Sophia currently live in Granby, Mass.
Kirstin Kahaloa KSK’01 was selected to lead the Kona-Kohala Chamber of Commerce as executive director. Kirstin moved from St. Louis, Mo.. where she served as director of international admissions at Maryville University. Her role is to provide leadership for a successful business environment in West Hawai‘i
Kalanikauleleiaiwi “‘Iwi” Ka‘auwai KSK’09 will be serving in Thailand as a Youth in Development Peace Corps Volunteer starting in January of 2016 through April of 2018. She will be working with community members to start new and enhance existing youth programs outside of the classroom.
Creighton Bedett Ho of Honolulu passed away on March 9, 2015. He was a retiree of the U.S. Air Force and from the City & County of Honolulu.
Bryson McFeeley KSK’11 graduated from Stanford University, in Palo Alto, Calif., in June 2015. Bryson earned a bachelor’s degree in computer science with a minor in linguistics. He was joined by his dad, Brian McFeeley KSK’75 and his brother Brendt McFeeley.
Howard Kalani Benham, aka HKB, peacefully passed away on August 28, 2015, at his home in Wai‘ehu, Maui, under the loving care of his family, caregivers and Hospice Maui.
He was hired by the Kamehameha Schools upon graduation and spent 41 years serving the families and children of Hawaii. He worked as a math and PE teacher, a football coach, athletic director, and Vice Principal to Allen Bailey for KSB. His last 27 years were as the Director of Admissions.
Howard was an avid golfer, loved to sing and play his ukulele, and spent a lot of time going to the beach with his family. Upon retiring from Kamehameha Schools, he was described as a superior man, a marvelous human being, a tenacious golfer and a warm-hearted and caring educator.
Lee Ann Johansen DeLima of Pukalani, Maui, headmaster of Kamehameha Schools Maui Campus, died on Nov. 7, 2015. She was born in Santa Ana, Calif.
Idamae Sims Tussing of John Day, Ore., died on Sept. 3, 2015. She was born in Hilo, Hawaiʻi.
John Torres of Honolulu died on Aug. 28, 2015. Born in Honolulu, he was a retired Honolulu Police Department detective and an Army veteran.
Arthur Eaton of Talent, Ore., died on June 10, 2015. Born in Honolulu, he was a retired U.S. Army Major, teacher, and coach in the Eagle Point School District.
